Gambling sites and other potential third-party sites are scams that exploit the gullibility of simple-minded individuals.

Is it legal? — Yes but Valve has taken action in some cases.

Is it recommended? — No.

Why is it not recommend? — They generally code the site in such ways that you always lose instead of gaining something expensive.

That's for money making and it's a dreary business for those who get tangled up with it.

The psychology behind gambling is self-explanatory and I will not elaborate on that.

Since we're on the topic of third-party sites and there's a correlation, I would reiterate that you should NEVER trust third-party sites.

Cosmetic in-game items were not made for profit but the system allows many to capitalize on that.

On a related note, Valve's recent update to the trading system targeted gambling sites but they did not directly say that this update was intended to do so.

Revisiting Trades...

Steam trading was created to allow customers to easily exchange items with each other, and each day we see thousands of customers using Steam Trading in this way. Recently we’ve been looking into ways to reduce some negative unintended uses of trading in CS:GO (such as fraud and scams), with the goal of preserving trade between players.

Starting from then, CS:GO items received in trade will have the same seven-day trade cooldown as items purchased in-game or via the Steam Community Market.

There's only one safe and secure place to get skins by purchasing.

That place is here...

The topic that relates to gambling and the new update by Valve was discussed many times...
